Confession and Forgiveness

L: Blessed be the holy Trinity, +one God, who greets us in this and every season, whose word never fails, whose promise is sure.

C: Amen.

L: Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of our neighbors.

(Silence is kept for reflection)

L: Merciful God,

C: we confess that we have sinned. We have hurt our community. We have squandered your blessings. We have hoarded your bounty. In the name of Jesus, forgive us and grant us your mercy.

(Silence is kept for reflection.)

L: Righteous God,

C: We confess that we have sinned. We have failed to be honest. We have lacked the courage to speak. We have spoken falsely. In the name of Jesus, forgive us and grant us your mercy.

(Silence is kept for reflection.)

L: God is a cup of cold water when we thirst. God offers boundless grace when we fail. Claim the gift of God’s mercy: you are freed and forgiven in the name of + Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Hymn # 508 “As Rain From the Clouds”

L: Together with the whole church, we confess our faith:

All: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ,

God’s only Son, our Lord,

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

He descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again.

He ascended into heaven,

He is seated at the right hand of the Father,

And he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen

The Prayers

L: . . . Hear us O God

C: Your mercy is great.

Sharing of the Peace

L: The peace of Christ be with you always.

C: And also with you!

L: You may share the peace with one another.

Offering

Offering Hymn # 679 “For the Fruit of All Creation”

Please stand as the last verse is sung and the offering is brought forward.

L: Let us pray.

All: God of field and forest, sea and sky, you are the giver of all good things. Sustain us with these gifts of your creation, and multiply your graciousness in us, that the world may be fed with your love, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

MEAL

P: It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise. . . We praise your name and join their un-ending hymn:

Eucharistic Prayer

P: We praise you, all holy God, our maker, our lover, our keeper,

C: for the universe beyond our knowing, for lands and seas and all their animals for the Texas Hill Country, Canyon Lake, and the beauty all around us;

P: For friends and strangers and family, for homes and grocery stores and schools;

C: for our neighboring churches: Canyon Lake Methodist, Cranes Mill Baptist, Canyon Lake Presbyterian, Peace Lutheran in New Braunfels, Faith United Church of Christ in New Braunfels, and all houses of worship.

P: We praise you for your covenant people, for Abraham and Sarah, Moses and Miriam, and for centuries of faithful Christians;

C: For Mary and Mary Magdalene, Peter and Paul, for Martin and Katie Luther, for our pastors, deacons, liturgists, musicians, council members, teachers, team members, staff, and helpers of every kind.

P: We praise you for your Son, Jesus Christ, who saves us from sin and evil, who finds us when we are lost, who redeems us when we go astray, and who calls us to follow even when we are broken. And we remember…

P: In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it and gave it to the disciples saying, “Take and eat, this is my body given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

Again after supper he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sins. Do this for the remembrance of me.”

P: And so we proclaim the mystery of faith:

C: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

P: Lord, remember us in your kingdom and teach us to pray…

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen
